Chicago Bear's New Quarterback: Jay Cutler
Is There Possibly An Improved Offense?
After giving up Kyle Orton , the Chicago Bears have acquired a new quarterback for the new 2014 season. He has already showed off some of his positive winning moves in their win against the New York Giants this past Saturday, on August 22nd, where they had a winning score of 17-3. Jay has already been familiar with plenty of offensive plays coming from the Denver Broncos, which should make his transition easier with the Chicago Bears team. The team and local news media have been buzzing about this talented and hopeful addition ever since Cutler came into training camp.

Cutler is being compared to Sid Luckman, who was known as one of the best quarterbacks from the 1940's. Sid played for the Chicago bears for twelve consecutive seasons that began in the year 1939. He was named one of the team's leading passers. Luckman is one of two players who made the forward pass one of the most important part of every football team's offensive plays. The other who joined Luckman in these ranks was Sammy Baugh. Being compared to such a legend as this, the pressure may be on as Jay takes his place in line with the Chicago Bears. He does understand the pressure and position that every quarterback is always in though. With his superb talents, and contagious motivation, Cutler should bring a turn-around for the Chicago Bears...
The Bear's quarterback coach, Pep Hamilton, also has a positive outlook as Cutler joins up with the team. As printed on the Chicago Bears website, “chicagobears.com,” Hamilton quoted that Cutler was very sharp and picked up very well during their earlier trainings back in April. The Bears should feel very safe and positive with Cutler leading as the team quarterback-not only did he just review plays, but he actually took extra time to even view past season's video tapes as well. Hamilton stated that Cutler was a very fine athlete and had extemely quick feet too. During training season, it was well noted that Jay had a fine throwing arm, which could definitely be a weapon for this season's Chicago Bears. It's often been described as his “rifle arm.”
While plenty of positive reviews were stated about Cutler, he did get off to a rocky start. In the preseason opener against Buffalo, Jay seemed to be having some trouble completing all of his passes. Perhaps it could have been some lack of communication with the receivers as they learned to adjust to a new quarterback. Jay mistakenly threw more interceptions than touchdowns, which made a little trouble for the Bears in their preseason debut. Cutler didn't let this opener get him down though. He realized there was some mistakes, and there was still time to learn from them before the season opener on September 13th. Cutler planned to do some talking with Chicago Bear's wide receiver, Devin Hester, to smooth things over.
There may have been a rocky start in the team's preseason opener, but some of Jay's hard studying of the Bear's team plays, viewing past video footage, and his passing arm did pay of in the August 22nd game against the New York Giants. Cutler held the Chicago team together with his offensive throwing passes, and kept all of the Bear's team members working together. The team easily picked up on Cutler's moves, and was able to score two winning touchdowns, and a field goal. With the completion of getting six passes to receivers down at the end zone due to Cutler's strong passing arm, the Bears should be feeling pretty good about the winning offensive plays yet to come this season. Hopefully the win with the New York Giants, kept the Bear's first preseason game in the back of everybody's minds. Perhaps it could be a look into the future with more impressive plays and wins from the team.
With the new addition of a quarterback, and the team forming together to create some rewarding plays, the Bears could have a successful season. Jay Cutler knows not to look ahead or past the present game that is scheduled though. While it's exciting to think about playing in the playoffs, or even at the Super-Bowl-you should not look past the current game. Perhaps that is where most teams make their first mistakes. Every team should play in the now, and focus on the game in play. Cutler is focused on the season opener, September 13th against Green Bay. That is what he believes the Bears should currently strive for. With Jay Cutler as a part of the team, the Chicago Bears, should be able to obtain that kind of drive that is needed to make successful wins during the football season.
Chicago Bear fans everywhere will be looking for that “rifle arm” of Cutler's to throw some winning passes to complete touchdowns... Again, we all will be hoping for a winning season, and a possible chance to see the Bears play at the Super Bowl. While the Bears will be focusing on their present game, the rest of us will already be looking ahead.
Are you anxious to see Cutler in person? Or the other Chicago Bears? All it takes is tickets.
